ÜBER UNS

FACTORY Theater Productions was founded in Kiel in 2005 and is an independent artists' collective without a permanent venue - and cooperates with numerous institutions in Schleswig-Holstein, nationwide and internationally. FACTORY Theater Productions has won several awards and is regularly invited to international festivals.


Since 2008, Gabriele Schelle and Christian Nisslmüller the collective that was founded in Kiel in 2005 by Gabriele Schelle and Klaus Falkhausen.


We work in an intercultural context and repeatedly across borders. We question the concepts of direction, authorship and representation. In our work we deal with classism, exclusion mechanisms, postcolonialism and Eurocentrism as well as feminism. Since 2020, climate change and artificial intelligence have been at the center of our work.


FACTORY Theater is a member of State Association of Independent Performing Arts Schleswig-Holstein (fdk_sh) and in Umbrella Association of Independent Performing Arts Hamburg (DFDK)We are also committed to increasing diversity and improving working conditions for artists in the independent performing arts.


We publish our digital projects in open access under the Common Creative License CC0 - and thus promote greater participation of the population in performative art. We are a publicly funded cultural institution and thus fulfill our public mandate to provide access to the cultural assets we manage. In addition, materials released in this way can be combined as desired with content that is subject to other licenses.
