DEATH IN VENICE – The Cyborg Version | Assistant Director
Anna Stecking was born in 1995 in Emsland. Her childhood and youth were shaped by years of participation in various musicals at the Emsland Open Air Theater in Meppen as well as dance lessons. Before and during her studies in theater and education at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, she began to gain her first dance teaching experience at the Theaterwerkstatt No Limit eV Berlin and to gain insights into the assistant director role at the Junge Schauspiel of the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden. She was also on stage herself from 2015 to 2019 as a member of the Junge Staatsmusical. After completing her studies, she worked for the first time as a choreographic assistant in the production “Saturday Night Fever” at the Emsland Open Air Theater in Meppen and at the Landestheater Eisenach for Iris Limbarth. She gained further dance experience during her training as a dance teacher at the Lola Rogge School in Hamburg. In the summer of 2021, she worked as an assistant director for Theresa von Halle at the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin and as an assistant for the independent collective FACTORY Theater Produktionen in Hamburg. In the 2021/2022 season, she will be the choreographic assistant for the musical “Cabaretֿ” as well as for productions of the Junge Staatsmusical.
